A social gravel ride exploring the farmland of the Eastern Darling Downs. The ride will leave and return from the Cambooya Memorial Park and join your fellow riders for a drink and lunch at the Cambooya Bull and Barley Hotel.
Four marked courses to suit all levels of fitness. This will be undulating and flat terrain so suitable for everyone.
•Fearless Filly – 125 km (1000 m elevation, 70% gravel)
•Feeder Steer – 100 km (900 m elevation, 75 % gravel)
•Heavy Horse - 70 km (600 m elevation, 85% gravel)
Pretty Piglet – 40km (300 m elevation, 80% gravel)
Event details
Location – the ride will leave from Cambooya Memorial Park, Cambooya. Car parking is available around the park, western side of hotel and vacant block beside the hotel. Registration point will be at the picnic tables in the park.
Registration & timing: Registration opens at 6.30 am. All riders are expected to attend a briefing at 7.30 am with departure shortly afterwards.
Costs: All proceeds go to the Toowoomba Mountain Biking Club for hosting the event.
$20 - those with insurance (e.g. AusCycling or Bicycle Qld membership - we will require your membership number at registration.
$30 - For those without insurance - to cover insurance for the day.
Toowoomba Gravel Muster Information
Location – the ride will leave from Cambooya Memorial Park, Ramsay St (outside the Bull & Barley Hotel). https://maps.app.goo.gl/d3JEn6xQwE5PbhTE8
Car parking: please park on either the western side of the hotel, in the vacant block beside the hotel or along the road outside the park. Please don’t park outside the convenience store or out the front of the hotel.
Camping: for those wanting to arrive the night before, you are welcome to use the vacant block beside the hotel. There are no facilities provided. Please ensure you clean up after yourself.
Registration: Registration point will be under the picnic shelter at the front of the park. Registration will be available on the day, but we ask if possible people could register prior to the event (https://www.tmbc.org.au/shop/toowoomba-gravel-muster-40 ).
We will be asking everyone riding to provide their name and phone number for safety purposes. We will also require people to check in upon their return to ensure all riders make it back safely.
Costs: $20 for those with AusCycling membership or other insurance coverage (e.g. Bicycle Qld); we will require your membership number at registration. Cost is $30 for others to cover insurance for the day. All proceeds will go to the Toowoomba Mountain Biking Club.

- Feeder Steer – 100 km (900 m elevation, 75 % gravel)
- Heavy Horse - 70 km (600 m elevation, 85% gravel)
- Pretty Piglet – 40 km (300 m elevation, 80% gravel)
Expect average speeds of 15-20 km per hour.
This event is not a race or timed event, so enjoy the scenery and comradery along the way.
What to bring
All riders are expected to be self-sufficient on the ride.
- mobile phone in case of emergency;
- appropriate repair kit, tools, spare tube/s, etc.
- Plan to carry at least 1 L of water
- Sufficient nutrition for your anticipated ride.
Water on course will be available for replenishment at 2 locations on the course - Junction of Cornford & Southbrook-Felton Rd (Southbrook) and Junction of Pauli Rd and Back Plains Rd.
These locations correspond to the following distances for each course:
- Fearless Filly (125 km) – 37, 83 km
- Feeder Steer (100 km) – 24, 71 km
- Heavy Horse (70 km) – 39 km
- Pretty Piglet (40 km) – 19 km
Please note – there are limited opportunities to source food along the way. You won’t travel through any other towns along the way.
Toilets: there are toilets at Cambooya Memorial Park (start & finish point) but no toilets on course for the 40 and 70 km courses. For 100 & 125 km riders there are public toilets in Nobby and Greenmount if you get desperate, but both will require a little side detour.
Directions: All major junctions or turning points on the course will be marked with directional arrows. All riders will be also provided with a pamphlet at registration including directions, a map of their intended course and an emergency contact number.
We will be monitoring weather conditions before the event. Some changes to the course may be required if substantial rain occurs just prior to the event.
Post ride: A reservation has been made for the tables on the western roadside of the Bull and Barley Hotel. Please join us for a post-ride meal and cool beverage. The convenience store across the road also has a wide selection of option for those wanting a quicker departure.
