Defibrillator

Originally constructed in 2016, predominately intended as a climb trail to avoid part of the fire road known as Heart Attack Hill; if you use the Defibrillator, you avoid the Heart Attack. In its original format, as a two way trail with an enormously fun high speed descent, it was quite dangerous and saw witness to many collisions. It had a significant upgrade in 2019, and is now a 4 km green circle (beginner) one way trail. Defib, as the locals affectionately call it, has something for everyone. It is usually the first trail that people ride when they arrive at the Bridge Street trail head. The trail descends deep into the top section of the park through forest canopy via a series of berms and small jumps. After the initial descent it climbs again for a short period, and then the descent concludes with a high speed line consisting of a medium sized tabletop jump, two berms, and a creek crossing. This section is known as Defib Fun!! After completing the creek crossing, the trail meanders its way back up to the Bridge Street trail head via a series of switchbacks. Allow 20-30 mins to complete a full loop. Those riders that don’t have the time or fitness for a full loop can choose a short or medium loop, fully signed at each turn off.
